Muro ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Muro Android mobile app, Android TV app, and related services.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in to Muro, we collect basic account information, including:

• Email address
• Display name and profile information provided by Google Sign-In
• User identifiers needed to maintain your Muro account

Google Calendar Information

With your permission, Muro requests read-only access to your Google Calendar data so it can display your selected calendars on your paired TV. This may include:

• Calendar names, identifiers, and colors
• Selected calendar settings
• Event titles, dates, times, all-day status, recurrence details, and calendar colors

Muro uses Google Calendar data only to provide and improve calendar display features that you choose to use. The section below explains the limited circumstances in which Google user data is shared, transferred, or disclosed.

Device and Pairing Information

To connect your mobile app and TV app, we collect information such as:

• Pairing codes and pairing status
• Device identifiers for paired TV displays
• Device heartbeat and last-seen status
• App version, device type, and operating system

Subscription and Usage Data

We collect information needed to provide the service and manage access, including:

• Subscription entitlement and plan status
• Selected calendar limits and app preferences
• Crash reports, diagnostics, and error logs

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Muro mobile and TV apps
• Authenticate your account and pair your TV display
• Connect to Google Calendar with your permission
• Sync selected calendar events for display on your paired TV
• Manage subscriptions, entitlements, and access limits
• Improve reliability, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse

How We Share, Transfer, or Disclose Google User Data

We share, transfer, or disclose Google user data only as described below:

• Google Cloud and Firebase (Google): These service providers process Google account identifiers, encrypted OAuth credentials, calendar metadata, selected calendar identifiers, and display-ready event data for authentication, hosting, storage, backend processing, and calendar sync.
• User-authorized paired Muro TV devices: A TV device that you pair with Muro receives the names and colors of calendars you select and event display fields such as title, date and time, all-day status, and recurrence details, solely to display those calendars. Google OAuth tokens are never sent to TV devices.
• Authorized Hatchi personnel and contractors: They may access specific Google user data only after you affirmatively permit access for support, when necessary to investigate security issues or abuse, when necessary to comply with applicable law, or when the data is appropriately aggregated for permitted internal operations. Anyone given access must handle the data consistently with this policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.
• Legal disclosures and business transfers: We may disclose Google user data to courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other authorities when necessary to comply with applicable law. If Google user data would be transferred to a successor as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will obtain the user's explicit prior consent before that transfer.

We do not sell Google user data or share it with advertisers, advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. We do not use Google user data for advertising, credit or lending decisions, or training artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Third-Party Services

Muro uses the following third-party services:

Google Play Billing and RevenueCat process subscription, purchase, and entitlement information. Sentry may process redacted diagnostics. We do not intentionally provide Google Calendar content or Google OAuth credentials to these services.

Data Storage and Security

Muro stores account identifiers, Google OAuth refresh tokens in encrypted form, device and entitlement information, selected calendar identifiers, calendar metadata, and display-ready calendar data using Firebase and Google Cloud. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest, including encryption for stored OAuth refresh tokens and device-scoped access for paired TV displays.

Google API Limited Use

Muro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Calendar data only to provide or improve user-facing Muro calendar display features.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or correct your account information
• Disconnect Google Calendar access
• Unpair TV devices
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play

Children's Privacy

Muro is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide Muro, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify associated data unless we are required to retain it for legal, security, or legitimate business reasons.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page or through the app.
